KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), the low-pressure line of monsoon is situated to the south of its average position in the west and slightly north of its average position in the east. As a result, the weather across the country is partly to generally cloudy. Light rainfall accompanied by thunder is occurring in a few places in Karnali Province and one or two places in other provinces.
Moderate rain expected across Nepal today
It will be partly to mostly cloudy across the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain with thundershowers is likely in some places in all the provinces.
Tonight will be partly to mostly cloudy across the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, and a few places in the rest of the provinces.
The DHM has advised taking necessary precautions to avoid the risk of disasters such as debris flows, floods, landslides, and soil erosion that may occur in those areas, as there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with lightning in some places across all the provinces.
