KATHMANDU, Oct 5: With Nepal's biggest shopping season in full swing, retailers of different mobile brands have launched various offers to lure festive shoppers.
Traditionally, apparel retailers have taken the lion's share of Dashain shoppers' purses.
But lately, consumer electronics vendors are taking the biggest slice of the cake.
As the country's biggest festival begins, different mobile companies have launched attractive offers, ranging from cashback, cash discount, special gifts and lucky draw, among others, to attract the customers.
Samsung mobile is providing cashback, discounts and various gifts through lucky draw under its 'Harek Din Lakhapati Offer'. Under the offer, only lucky customers get a chance to win Rs 100,000 every day for 40 days through lucky draw. Similarly, three lucky winners will get either Gear S2 or Level U or Level Box on a daily basis. Pranay Ratna Sthapit, head of HHP Division of Samsung, said that the company is selecting winners through live draw every day.
Likewise, Vatsal Impex -- the authorized distributor of Xiaomi mobile phones -- has launched an exciting offer entitled 'Kina Maanchau Bore? Dashain Tihar Maa Mi Ko Gift Sure'. Under the offer, customers will get a chance to win 60-inch TV, Mi 5 and Mi 4 handsets, Mi Bluetooth speaker, Mi Band, Mi powerbank, Mi ear-in headphone, silver coins, among other gifts on purchase of any Mi phones.
Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has launched 'Prize Ek-se-Ek, Yo Dashain Ma Bhagyashaali Anek' scheme. Under the scheme, the company will give out prizes to lucky customers on a weekly and fortnightly basis. Some 100 powerbanks, 20 smartphones and 4 Giant cycles with kit are up for grabs as weekly prizes. Similarly, the company is giving away a Vespa and a Royal Enfield Classic motorbike every fortnight.
Sumit Pradhananga, marketing manager of Huawei, said customers look for quality and brand before investing their hard-earned money. “The festive season is a boon to mobile business. This offer has helped us to attract customers in droves,” he added.
Likewise, Allied Trade Link International, the authorized distributor of Panasonic mobile phones for Nepal, is also offering 100 percent cashback offer on purchase of Panasonic smartphones. Under the scheme, five lucky customers get back the price that they have paid for Panasonic smartphones every day through a lucky draw.
Life Com Pvt Ltd, the authorized distributor of Lenovo smartphones in Nepal, is also not behind when it comes to attracting festive shoppers. The company has launched '"Winanza aba Jit Chha Pakka" offer under customers get an opportunity to win Lenovo tablet and Notebook every week via lucky draw. According to the government, customers also get sure-shot gifts like silver coin, T-shirt, 8GB memory card, power bank and Bluetooth headset.
Micromax Company has launched 'Upahar maximum, Khusi Maximum' offer for this festive season. Under the scheme, one lucky customer will win a Suzuki bike as bumper prize. Similarly, sure-shot cash discount, LED TV for 5 lucky winners and free Dubai trip to a lucky couple are up for grabs. According to Bhupal Chhetri, national trade manager of Micromax, the offer has helped them to boost sales.
Meanwhile, Gionee Mobiles has also brought a scheme named 'Gionee Utsav Offer Dubai Safar'. Under the scheme, customers get an opportunity to win exclusive gifts. Similarly, 12 lucky winners will get a 3 nights, 4days Dubai trip. The scheme will continue till October 31, according to Sanjay Agrawal of TeleTalk Pvt Ltd -- the authorized distributor of Gionee in Nepal.
Colors Mobile has also announced a festive discount offer. "Customers will get 8 to 10 percent discount on all handsets and a 10,000 mAh powerbank on the purchase of selected handsets,” said officials of Colors Mobile.
