Mitramilan thumped Sainik Youth Club of Jhapa 4-1 in the last match of the round robin league participated by four teams to lift the title. Mitramilan garnered seven points from three matches with two wins and a draw. Sainik finished pointless at the bottom of the table. [break]
As the winner, Mitramilan also bagged a purse of Rs 100,000.
Lile Magar emerged the hero with a hat-trick in Mitramilan´s victory. Magar scored in the 16th, 22nd and 68th minutes respectively. Yubaraj Rai added another a fourth for Mitramilan. Put Maden hit the consolation goal for Sainik Youth. Ganesh Hemram of Sainik was adjudged the man of the match.
In another match, Sangam Youth Club of Pokhara edged past Workers Martyrs Memorial Club (WMMC) of Makawanpur 2-1 and assured its place in the national league. Rajkumar Pariyar and Prabin Rana netted one apiece for Sangam. Mallik Singh scored the only goal for WMMC.
With the result, Sangam achieved its second victory and finished as the runner-up with six points while WMMC finished third with four points. Sangam bagged Rs 50,000.
Mitramilan and Sangam will now vie in the national league to be participate by ten teams, including the top eight teams of the Martyrs Memorial Red Bull A Division League. The league will begin from December 30.
