Minister Pandey visits Janakpurdham for Chhath celebration

JANAKPUR, Nov 7: On the occasion of the Chhath festival, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Pandey visited the holy Janakpurdham on Thursday to worship Chhathi Mai.

JANAKPUR, Nov 7: On the occasion of the Chhath festival, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Pandey visited the holy Janakpurdham on Thursday to worship Chhathi Mai.


Minister Pandey exchanged Chhath greetings with the people gathered at the Chhath Ghat near Janakpur city and also received information about the social, cultural and religious significance of Chhath and its impact on the Mithila civilization. At the same time, he visited the famous Janaki Temple and offered worship.

During the visit, Minister Pandey engaged in discussions with elected representatives and leaders about ways to enhance the religious significance of Janakpurdham in other countries and expand religious tourism. He also discussed the issue of upgrading the airport in Janakpur to attract religious tourists to Janakpur like Bhairahawa’s Gautam Buddha International Airport.


Minister Pandey also inspected the Janakpur airport on Thursday. During the airport inspection, he hoisted the flag in the airport premises and inaugurated the water fountain constructed at the airport. On this occasion, Manish Jha, a member of the House of Representatives from Rastriya Swatantra Party, informed Minister Pandey about the Chhath Ghat and other areas constructed in Janakpur.
