KATHMANDU, May 4: The newly nominated ministers from UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesi People’s Right Forum (MPRF) will be taking oath of office and secrecy amid a special function at Shital Niwas on Wednesday evening.
Earlier, Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had recommended seven ministers and four state ministers representing the party in Jhala Nath Khanal-led government. [break]
The nominees from the Maoist party are Krishna Bahadur Mahara as Home Minister, Agni Prasad Sapkota as Information and Communications, Shakti Basnet as Health and Population Minister, Biswanath Sah as Peace and Reconstruction, Jayapuri Gharti as Women, Children and Social Welfare Minister, Ram Charan Chaudhary as Land Reform and Management and Mahendra Paswan as Industry Minister.
Dharmashila Chapagain, Habibulla Khan and Devi Khadka are among the nominees of the state ministers from the Maoist party.
The Maoist party has the share of 11 state ministers in the coalition.
Similarly, MPRF had also recommended a set of three ministers and one state minister under the leadership of chairman Upendra Yadav.
MPRF had recommended Chairman Yadav as the Deputy Minister and Foreign Minister while Mohammad Istiyaq Rai as Labor Minister, Hari Narayan Yadav as Agriculture and Cooperative Minister. Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav has been recommended as state minister for Agriculture and Cooperative.
Minister Pun quits over ‘ministerial nomination’
Barsha Man Pun who is Peace and Reconstruction and Youth and Sports Minister in the coalition government tendered his resignation reportedly expressing his dissatisfaction over the recent ministerial nomination from his party, UCPN (Maoist).
The formal announcement over the resignation has not been made.
