Pandit covered a distance of 197 km in 27 hours 42 minutes and 50 seconds, three hours behind the estimated time, during the race aimed at creating awareness on global warming and climate change. [break]
He left Jiri, a tourist destination of Dolakha district, at six in the morning on May 15 and arrived at the President´s Office, Maharajgunj at 10 p.m. the following day.
“By the time I reached Panchkhal of Kavre district the following day, the scorching heat had exhausted me but I carried on so that the rest of the team members would not feel let down,” said Pandit speaking at the function at Kantipur Valley College, Kumaripati, where he is pursuing BBA.
Principal of the college Pushkar Man Amatya announced that he would provide full scholarship to Pandit throughout his bachelors degree and also pledged to support him to pursue masters degree.

The race with the theme “Save the Himalayan Region” was organized by Kantipur Valley College and supported by the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology.
