Constitution Day holiday is not for drinking and dating: Information Minister Baskota

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota on Wednesday urged everyone to mark the Constitution Day as a grand festival.

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota on Wednesday urged everyone to mark the Constitution Day as a grand festival.


However, he also urged the people to refrain from drinking and going out for dates.

Speaking to government officials in connection to preparations for the upcoming Constitution Day on September 20, Baskota urged everyone to mark the day in a grand fashion.


"Please be clear that the Constitution Day holiday is not for playing cards, drinking, and dating. Let's celebrate the national day in a grand manner," Minister Baskota said.


A special ceremony will be organized at the Army Pavilion, Tundikhel to mark the day.


The ceremony will be attended by President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Vice President Nanda Bahadur, PM KP Oli, Chairman of National Assembly Ganesh Timalsina, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, chiefs of constitutional bodies, ministers, leaders representing various political parties, chiefs of security bodies, civil servants and others.
