BAJURA, Jan 8: Shortage of medicines has been reported in the government health facilities in Bajura, a district in the Province 7.

The government provides 80 types of medicines to the needy free of cost, but the district-based health institutions do not have even the stock of paracetamol. Chiefs of such facilities have complained that the responsibility for the operation of health facilities has been transferred to the local levels which are yet to release budget to purchase required medicines.

The Budhiganga Health Post based in Badimalika Municipality is one of the health facilities going through such situation.

According to health post in-charge Lalita Rokaya, it was relatively easier to work before when the District Public Health Office supplied medicines to them but more challenges have arisen after the responsibility of the operation of health facilities was handed to the local level.

There are four municipalities and five rural municipalities in the district which has a total 28 health facilities and community health units at the village level as well. RSS
