KATHMANDU, Sept 29: Alice P. Albright, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the American project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), is set to arrive in Kathmandu on Sunday for a five-day visit. This visit is taking place six years after the signing of the agreement between the United States of America and the Government of Nepal, with the implementation phase having commenced on August 29, 2022.
The US Embassy in Kathmandu has announced that Albright is coming to Nepal to celebrate the successful launch of the MCC-Nepal Compact and to strengthen the bilateral partnership between the two nations. The embassy stated, "MCC Chief Executive Officer Alice Albright will visit Nepal next week to celebrate the bilateral partnership between Nepal and the United States and to mark the successful launch of the MCC-Nepal Compact."

During her stay, Albright is expected to hold courtesy meetings with senior leaders of the Nepali government, underscoring MCC's commitment as a steadfast partner in overcoming challenges in the implementation process and ensuring that the benefits of the compact reach the Nepali people.
Scheduled meetings include discussions with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat, Foreign Minister NP Saud, Energy Minister Shakti Basnet, and other high-ranking government officials in Kathmandu. It is anticipated that these discussions will focus on addressing project-related issues that have faced delays in MCC implementation. Furthermore, CEO Alice intends to engage with top leaders from various political parties during her visit.
