KATHMANDU,
Nepal’s rap reality show ‘Nephop ko Shreepech’ winner Saimon Bista aka Viber has been crowned by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah.
In an event organized on Tuesday, Judge and Mayor, Balen Shah felicitated Viber with a new crown made up of Panchadhatu (mixture of five metals namely- copper, gold, lead, silver and iron).
Roshan Pokharel, who made the crown said, “The crown presented today is worn by Hiphop rapers and it is made by seeing the design on the internet.”
Previously, the use of a crown of religious significance at a reality rap show had courted a huge controversy. In Buddhism, such a crown with Pancha Buddha is worshiped by Bajracharyas and there is a tradition of wearing it on Pancha Abhishek by the Gurus. Following that, Shah conducted a program at Chusya Bahal and handed over the Buddha crown to ‘Guru Dyo Tha:Pa’.
