Lawmakers take oath of Federal Parliament

Lawmakers, who were elected in the election of Federal Parliament have been administered the oath on Sunday afternoon. The ceremony held at the New Baneshwar-based International Conference Centre (ICC), the senior elected member Mahantha Thakur from RJPN administered the oath to 273 MPs of House of Representatives and Tara Devi Bhatta from Nepali Congress administered oath to 55 National Assembly members representing various parties.

PM Oli to face vote of confidence on March 11

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli would be seeking a vote of confidence from the Federal Parliament on March 11. The spokesperson at the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Dr Bharatraj Gautam told RSS that a meeting of representatives of political parties represented in the House of Representatives held today forged a consensus for the same. 

Hearing on case of oath-taking of 3 upper house members halted

The hearing on the case against three members nominated by the President to the National Assembly upon the recommendation by the KP Sharma Oli led government has halted on Sunday. The hearing was assigned in the joint session bench of Justices Hari Krishna Karki and Prakashman Singh Raut today.

3000 gherao Mayor's house in Tikapur

Residents of Tikapur have gheraoed the house of Tapendra Bahadur Rawal, mayor of Tikapur Municipality after being alleged for protecting those accused of killing Karna Thapa. Thapa was stabbed to death by five people, some of whom are relatives of the mayor. As a result, more than 3000 people have circled the mayor’s house at Tikapur-1.

White House shooting: Man shoots and kills himself outside fence

A man has shot and killed himself outside the White House in Washington, the Secret Service says. It said the man approached the White House's fence on Pennsylvania Avenue just before noon local time (17:00GMT) before taking out a handgun and firing several shots. No one else was injured, according to police.
