Despite Nepal criminalizing anyone practicing Chhaupadi practice, it is yet to see implementation in Kanchanpur, largely because neither women nor the society are willing to break away from the practice.

Salman’s ‘Da-bangg The Tour Nepal ’ postponed due to ‘special reason’


The pre-scheduled program ‘Da-bangg The Tour Nepal’ featuring Indian artists including Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Prabhu Deva among others has been postponed. Issuing a notice through social media, ODC Entertainment said that the program was postponed due to ‘special reason’.

Sanima Bank supported Dhurmus Suntali foundation with Rs 2.1 million as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility to mitigate the shortage of fund during the construction of Santapur lntegrated Model Settlement. The amount is the highest amount a bank has provided to charitable organizations.


After IPL, Sandeep Lamichhane to play in Caribbean Premier League


Sandeep Lamichane became the first Nepali cricketer to pay in the Caribbean Premier League Twenty 20 tournament. Lamichanne was signed up by the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots during CPL auction in London for a fee of $5,000.  


UNICEF says aid convoy for 180,000 Syrians could go on Sunday


Syria’s government may allow an aid convoy with supplies for 180,000 people to go to the town of Douma in the besieged enclave of eastern Ghouta on Sunday. The convoy’s supplies are mainly health and nutrition-related and would serve 70,000 children out of the 200,000 in eastern Ghouta, an area that encompasses many settlements.
