Maoists stone minister's vehicle

DHANGADHI, Sept 20: Maoists showed black flags and pelted stones on the vehicle of Minister for Irrigation Balkrishna Khand in Dhangadhi Sunday. Minister Khand had arrived from Geta airport to Dhangadhi amid tight security.



During a meeting with Nepali Congress workers after the incident, minister Khand said the Maoists had resorted to violence and they would die out. "History has it that whoever considered Nepali Congress as their enemy have perished," Minister Khand added citing the 104-year Rana regime and King Gyanendra, "The Maoists too have no future."



Minister Khand is scheduled to inaugurate the Rani Jamara Irrigation Project for Tikapur region in the district on Monday.
