They also boycotted the inaugural function. Indian embassy in Kathmandu had provided Rs 5.31 million for the construction of the school building.

Later inaugurating the school building amid tight security, envoy Sood said India was ready to extend support to drinking water projects, health and educational facilities.

He said India had already provided four ambulances, financial assistance for two drinking water projects and construction of two schools in Dhankuta.

The Maoist protest comes in the wake of the party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal´s assertion that the party does not regard India as the ´principal enemy´ and wants to improve relations with India.
