KATHMANDU, Jan 1: The CPN (Maoist Center) is likely to elect new leadership today. The ongoing eighth general convention of the CPN (Maoist Center) has been extended until Saturday.


The party unanimously passed Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s political report on Saturday. In order to pass the party’s statute draft, a closed session has been summoned at 11:00 AM.

The leadership selection will begin only after approval of the statute draft. The party is set to select 15-office bearers and 299 central committee members.
