KATHMANDU, Dec 12: The UCPN (Maoist) has postponed the party Central Committee (CC) meeting, scheduled to begin from Tuesday, to December 17, citing poor health condition of party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

“We decided to postpone the meeting as the chairman is currently suffering from typhoid,” said Maoist Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma. [break]

According to him, Dahal fell ill as he has been attending the meetings of the taskforce formed to facilitate constitution drafting process every morning.

It is the third time that the Maoist party postponed its scheduled CC meeting.

Earlier, the party had stated that the CC meeting had to be postponed to do extra homework.

The UCPN (Maoist) has also formed a taskforce led by party General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa for redistribution of party responsibilities among the leaders.

Vice Chairmen Mohan Baidya and Bhattarai factions have demanded their “rightful shares” in the leadership of the party organization, which is dominated by Dahal faction.
