BIRATNAGAR, April 3: Leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) Pradip Gyawali said on Friday that Maoist victory in the by-elections would mean a license for them to commit crimes and urged people not to vote for them come April 10. [break]

Addressing the election campaigns of his party in Biratnagar, Gyawali accused the Maoists of carrying out criminal activities. “Victory for the Maoists in the by-polls will mean legitimacy for their criminal activities,” he said.

Gyawali further said that there is no alternative to the CPN-UML in the present political context.

Similarly, Vice Chairperson of the CPN-UML Bidhya Bhandari urged women to move forward for their rights.

Around two dozen CPN-UML central leaders are currently in Biratnagar for the by-elections to be held in Morang constituencies-5 and 7.
