Sunar, a Dalit from Jubetha village, was beaten to death by the culprits in Jas Bahadur´s hotel for intruding in the kitchen in an attempt to light a cigarette on December 10, 2011. He had died on the way to hospital.
The district government attorney office had demanded life sentence with the confiscation of properties of the murderers. But the court sentenced them to 10 years in jail.
The government has already declared Sunwar a martyr and provided his family Rs 1million in relief.
After the death of Sunar, the responsibility of looking after the family of daughter-in law and three grand children has fallen on his septuagenarian father Birbhadra.
