BHAKTAPUR, June 8: A person has killed his wife by attacking with an axe in Bhaktapur district on Thursday night. 

The deceased has been identified as Salena Majhi, 28. According to the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, Umesh Majhi of Charnadi of Bhaktapur district, currently living at Changunarayan Municipality-7, killed Salena attacking her with an axe at a time when she was sleeping. 

Salena, who received deep injury on her head in the incident, died in course of treatment at Bansbari-based Neuro Hospital, said Superintendent of Police, Himalaya Kumar Shrestha. 

Umesh has been absconding after the incident and search for him was underway, he added. Police have started investigation into the case. RSS
