Man held with fake Nepali notes

BIRGUNJ, April 16: Police on Tuesday arrested a person in possession of fake Nepali currency worth Rs 135,000 from Ranighat, Birgunj. Wahid Ansari, 48, of Birgunj 9 was arrested in possession of Rs 1000 and Rs 500 denomination notes, reported the police.



According to SSP Subendra Khanal, the police had also recovered from him a fake Indian currency note worth Rs 50. [break]



In his statement to the police, Ansari has confessed that he was being used as a carrier, said DSP Sanjay Singh Thapa, adding, he had carried the fake Indian note as a sample.
