Police had received a call through the national emergency hotline (100) about a bomb planted at Kuleswor based Janamaitri Secondary School on Friday. It immediately prompted police to deploy security team, bomb disposal unit, and sniffer dogs to the site. The incident caused panic at the center, where Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) examination was being conducted.
After making the call, Jha had switched off his mobile phone. He was later tracked down and arrested from Nayabazar in Kirtipur.
According to police, Jha himself was also a candidate for the same examination. Initially, he claimed someone else had used his phone to make the hoax call, but later admitted to providing the false information due to exam-related stress.
He has been handed over to the District Police Office, Kathmandu, for further investigation.
