GORKHA, Feb 1: Narayan Dhakal of Kerabari VDC-3, who was serving jail term for the last eight years, was released on Tuesday as the Supreme Court ordered the administration to release him concluding that he was jailed wrongly.
Dhakal, a local of Gorkha, who was serving jail term since March 2011 on the charge of murdering the daughter of Tej Bahadur Regmi, was released from Gorkha jail on Tuesday.

Earlier, Gorkha district court had found him guilty in the murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment and confiscation of all property. A division bench of Supreme Court justices Gopal Parajuli and Devendra Prasad Shrestha, however, ordered his release on Monday.
“Finally, the Supreme Court has done justice to me,” said Dhakal. He, however, lamented for being deprived of higher education. He was jailed just when he started higher education. He spent seven years and 11 months in jail on charge of murdering Regmi. After his acquittal, Dhakal said those concerned must be serious to ensuring that innocent are not punished.
