Currently, the service has been used by three to four women in a day on average in the Hospital, said Dr Poudel. The Hospital administration said that the service charge for the screening through the mammography process is Rs 1,500 per person.

According to Dr Arun Shahi, senior oncologist, breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in Nepal. Hence, its timely screening (diagnosis) was very important.
