KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Nepali karateka Mamita Shrestha clinched gold medal in the WTKO Karate Championship held in Switzerland from July 18 to 21.
According to Nepal Sotokan Karate Association (NSKA) General Secretary Shyam Sherpa, Shrestha won the gold medal in women´s single kata event. [breal]
Issuing a press statement on Monday, NSKA congratulated Shrestha for winning the gold medal in the mega event organized by World Traditional Karate Organization (WTKO).

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Dhorpatan Sports Training Club announced on Monday that the ninth edition of the Dhorpatan Blue Sky Cup TVS Women´s Double League Volleyball Tournament will be held in Kathmandu from December 14 to 28. Club President Manabir Chhantyal said the tournament would feature eight to 10 teams. According to Chhantyal, the winner of the tournament will receive Rs 226,000. Likewise, the best player of the tournament, player of the year and emerging player will get a TVS scooter each.
