KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Nepal’s judoka Poonam Shrestha bagged Nepal’s second judo gold at the 13th South Asian Games on Monday.
Shrestha defeated India’s Navneet Kaur in the women’s under 78 kg weight category to secure the gold at Nepal Army’s Physical Fitness and Training Center in Lalitpur.
Wibushana Gedara of Sri Lanka and Khanom Farina of Bangladesh got bronze medals.

Earlier on Sunday, Devika Khadka had secured the first gold medal for Nepal defeating India’s Gayatri Tokas in women’s 52 kg weight category.
Likewise, in women’s 70 Kg weight category, Nepal’s Binita Magar won silver losing to India while Sri Lanka won bronze.
In over 78 Kg weight category, Nepal’s Aakriti Joshi lost the final round match against India getting limited to silver whereas Pakistan and Sri Lanka secured bronze medals.
In men’s 90 Kg weight category, Nepal’s Sriram Makaju got the bronze medal after India secured another gold in Judo whereas Pakistan lost the final round to satisfy with silver.
In over 100 kg weight category, Nepal’s Rajan Joshi brought second bronze medal of the day as Pakistan scalped gold whereas India secured silver.
In under 100 Kg weight category, Ramesh Bahadur Chand scalped another bronze for Nepal losing to finalists India and Pakistan who won silver and gold respectively.
