KATHMANDU, March 11: Janamat Party has decided to field Mamata Jha as the party’s vice presidential candidate.
Nagarik Unmukti Party and the Janamat Party have forged a working alliance for the vice presidential election. The two parties decided to make Mamata Jha the candidate for vice president after NUP’s candidate Ranjita Shrestha was not old enough to be the vice president.

BP Shah, a central member of the party, said the Central Executive Committee meeting of the party held on Friday afternoon decided to make Jha the vice-presidential candidate.
Earlier, the ruling coalition had agreed to give the post of vice president to the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP). However, other parties within the ruling coalition have also staked claim for the vice presidency.
The registration of nominations for the vice president is scheduled for Saturday.
