Traffic congestion around the Singha Durbar, country´s main administrative center, is expected to ease with the opening of the road for traffic. [break]
The Bhattarai-led government had directed the Nepali Army to open the load linking Thapathali to Bhadrakali, and the new road was opened as an alternative to that end.
The government also provided Rs 4.5 million to the NA to construct the 618 meters long road. The road measures 10 meters width.
The road has been graveled and would be brought into operation in the present condition. However, the road would be blacktopped only after Tihar festival and the existing length also would be expanded to 14 meters.
Minister for Physical Planning, Works and Transport Hridayesh Tripathi on Thursday observed the road section and drew attention of the officials and NA´s officials regarding the precautions to be taken before operation of the road.
