MAHOTTARI, June 23: Mayor Hari Prasad Mandal of Matihani municipality laid foundation to construct a stadium in the area.
Ground work to construct the stadium has been started and the Rs. 2.5 million has already been set aside for first phase, according to Baidh Nath Mandal, chairperson of the stadium’s construction committee. The stadium will spread over 30 ropani land.

The municipality aims to build a model stadium of the district by separating additional budget in next fiscal year. In addition, the municipality also aims to search additional funds for timely construction.
A timely construction of the stadium will help the faltering sports sector to bounce back.
