Maheshwar secures top finish in bodybuilding

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Maheshwar Maharjan, champion of 75kg and belonging to Shapes Fitness and Gym, claimed the title of the First Nationwide Bodybuilding competition held in Kathmandu on Thursday.

Ram Hari Khanal, champion of 70kg, affilaited with Nepal Byayam Mandir finished first runner-up, while Ram Bahadur Dahal, champion of 65kg, also from Byayam Mandir, came second in the event organized by Himalayan Kingdom Nepalese Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.Maheshwar, Ram Hari and Ram Bahadur respectively bagged Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 40,000 along with trophies.

Earlier, Umesh Balami of Byayam Mandir and Chhatra Bahadur Shrestha of Good Life Fitness finished second and third in 55kg event, Ramesh Karki of Shree Flex Fitness and Dhruba Adhikari of The Perfect Gym came second and third in 60kg section. Anil Lal Shrestha of Complete Health Club and Deepak Thakuri of Tribhuvan Army Club emerged first runner-up and second runner-up in 65 kg sections respectively, while Ujjwal Ratna Bajracharya of Shapes and Bimal Shrestha of Fitness Studio claimed second and third positions in 70kg event.

Nabin Kumar Gurung of Muscles World and Pravesh Shrestha of Shapes became first runner-up and second runner-up respectively in 75kg event, while Tul Bahadur Shrestha came second and Tilak Bahadur Tamang of Muscles World finished third in 80kg event.
