He said Madhes-based parties have expedited discussion on alternative prime ministerial candidate as the big three parties -- UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML -- failed to pick new prime ministerial candidate. [break]
Addressing a press conference in Janakpur, Mahato said resignation of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has been delayed due to the failure of big three parties to give his alternative. “There has been talk at high level among Madhes-based parties to lead the constitution drafting and peace process,” he said.
He said they will publicize their decision after holding a formal meeting within the next few days.
He argued that Madhes-based parties should be given leadership of the new government as big three parties have utterly failed to accomplish the tasks of constitution drafting and taking the peace process to a logical end.
Earlier, Chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Democratic Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar had argued that Madhes-based parties should be given to lead the new government.
