KATHMANDU, May 25: United Democratic Madhesi Front has demanded equal status of the Front in the cabinet with Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.
In a meeting with Nepali Congress leaders held at NC President Girija Prasad Koirala’s residence in Maharajgunj, leaders of the Front suggested Koirala to categorize the ministries in three groups and share them among the NC, UML and Madhesi parties.

Leaders of Madhesi People’s Rights Forum, one of the constituent parties in the Front, said they suggested Koirala to categorize the ministries in terms of power, development and social service before the ministries are allocated for the parties.
“We also discussed the issue of Common Minimum Program of the government and high-level political mechanism,” said MPRF leader Bijay Gachchhadar, coming out of the meeting.
MPRF, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party and Sadbhavana Party are constituents of the Front. Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and the Front leaders are set to hold talks Tuesday afternoon to discuss CMP, political mechanism and sharing of power.
