KATHMANDU, August 28: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli said that he had made every possible effort he could to keep the party’s unity intact. Speaking at a program in the capital on Saturday, Oli said that he had called Madhav Kumar Nepal over 20 times to maintain the unity in the party.
“How could a person who said that he would finish the CPN-UML and create instability in the country understand my efforts? Oli asked. “We tried to consult and make him come to an understanding. I called him over 20 times, went to meet him but it was all for nothing. Whatever was to happen has happened. There is no need to sit and worry. A tree doesn't die out just because a few of its fruits fall off. A new sapling grows from it,” he said.

Oli expressed his confidence that no matter how many times other parties form an alliance against the CPN-UML, the party will still remain the major party inside the country.
Accusing Madhav Kumar Nepal of being a blight on the CPN-UML legacy, he said, “Although some people are still young, they want to become the king of their house.”
