‘Ma Nagarik, Ma Banauchu Nepal’ Campaign being held in Janakpur today

Climate crisis, youth participation in sustainable development: Dialogue with youth, government, and private sector

JANAKPUR, Feb 16: Nepal Republic Media’s ‘Ma Nagarik, Ma Banauchu Nepal’ campaign is set to take place today at Nidhi Bhawan in Janakpur. The event will feature discussions with experts on topics including the climate crisis, youth participation in sustainable development, gender equality, healthcare tourism, religious tourism, and Chure deforestation.


Former President of Nepal, Dr Ram Baran Yadav, has arrived in Janakpur as the chief guest. He is scheduled to speak on environmental issues and Chure conservation as the keynote speaker.


The panel discussion, organized under Nepal Republic Media’s ‘Ma Nagarik, Ma Banaunchu Nepal’ initiative, will begin at 11 am at Nidhi Hall in Janakpur. Experts will share insights under the theme "Shaping the Economy and a Green Future," highlighting youth contributions through technology and innovation. Janamat Party Chairperson Dr. CK Raut has also arrived in Janakpur ahead of the event, where he is set to deliver a lecture as a keynote speaker.

Dr Raut, who participated in a student union election training program organized by the Student Janamat Union in Dhanusha on Saturday, will attend the panel discussion at the Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Cultural Center in Janakpur at 11 am today, according to Nepal Republic Media’s Chief Operating Officer Madan Aryal.


Aryal said that Dr Raut was invited as a keynote speaker due to his deep understanding of domestic and global politics, analytical expertise, and leadership qualities. He added that Dr Raut’s objective, logical, and experience-based knowledge exchange would be valuable for the youth, particularly in addressing challenges such as growing disillusionment among the young workforce, economic opportunities, and solutions to the climate crisis.


Other key speakers at the event include Nepal’s first president, Dr Ram Baran Yadav, renowned cardiologist Dr Om Murti Anil, Nepal Republic Media’s Managing Director Samriddhi Gyawali, and Nimbus Holdings’ Managing Director Anand Bagaria.


Discussions will also focus on preventing Chure degradation, restoring agricultural systems, and promoting sustainability.
