KATHMANDU, March 24: Nepali Congress (NC) president Gagan Thapa has proposed holding the party’s upcoming general convention from September 9 to 11 during a meeting of the Central Committee.
Addressing the ongoing Central Committee meeting, Thapa outlined a detailed schedule for membership updates and convention preparations. He proposed that new membership forms be delivered to the wards from April 4 until mid-April, with existing records updated simultaneously.

According to the proposal, all wards should complete membership updates by April 14, which would then be forwarded to the districts between May 15 to 29, and to the central committee by June 8. The central committee would verify the records and finalize the membership status by June 29.
Thapa also proposed selecting convention representatives on August 15, holding district-level conventions on August 22-23, and finally conducting the NC general convention from September 9 to 11.
