KATHMANDU, April 23: Lumbini World Peace Forum and Nepal Army’s ‘Yuddha Kavach Battalion” joined hands on April 22 to plant 200 saplings of various fruits at Sitapaila, Kathmandu. The tree planting program was held under the theme of “Invest in our Planet.”

The program was graced by the presence of Brigadier General Laxman Thapa of Nepal Army.

The forum has set a goal to plant and collaborate to conserve 1 million trees by 2030. The forum strongly believes in taking small yet effective steps towards preserving the environment for future generations.

The program was attended by Founder President Basu Gautam, Vice President Santosh Kunwar, General Secretary Dhirendra Pant, and Dinesh Kumar Khadka, Battalion Commander of Yudh Kavach Battalion.

President Gautam stated, “Our planet needs our attention and care. We are taking a step forward to make a difference, and we urge everyone to join hands with us in this noble cause.”

According to a statement released, Lumbini World Peace Forum and its conservation partner NA are committed to making our planet a better place to live, and the tree planting program is a step towards that goal.
