KATHMANDU,June 13: A delegation of the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) today called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to remind the latter of the party’s demands. The delegation was led by party Chair Mahantha Thakur.
While the meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, the delegation drew the Prime Minister’s attention toward a charter of 11-point demand it had put forth before the head of the government on June 7.
According to LSP leader Laxman Lal Karna, the meeting was a follow-up on the June 7 meeting with the Prime Minister. In today’s meeting, the Prime Minister assured them of addressing the demands after the endorsement of the Appropriation Bill for the fiscal year 2022-23.
The party’s demands include citizenship to the offspring of people possessing citizenship by birth and the withdrawal of cases against party leaders and cadres among others.
Rajendra Mahato and Sharat Singh Bhandari were among those leaders in the delegation.
