KATHMANDU, March 28: Domestic and international flights - both take-offs and landings  -  at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have been affected due to adverse weather conditions. According to Subash Jha, spokesperson, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), flights to and from the airport have been affected due to low visibility.

According to Jha, an Air China plane was 'redirected,' while other aircraft were circling in the sky. Currently, a Sichuan Airlines aircraft is on hold. Poor weather conditions have resulted in low visibility at the airport. An hour ago, the visibility was only 1,600 meters, but it has now improved to 2,500 meters.

"International flights that are on hold have started to land," Spokesperson Jha said. There are no domestic flights at the Pokhara Regional International Airport. There are regular flights at the airport in the Terai region.

At TIA, 30 airlines, including three Nepali, operate international flights at present. Domestically, 20 air service providers including 12 helicopter companies are providing flight services.
