Longest session of Parliament comes to end

KATHMANDU, May 18: The ongoing session of the Legislature-Parliament has come to an end from Thursday.

KATHMANDU, May 18: The ongoing session of the Legislature-Parliament has come to an end from Thursday.



In a session on Thursday, Speaker Onsari Gharti read the letter from the Office of President and announced that the President has called off the current session of the House upon the reccomendation of the government. It is prorogued from Thursday mid night. This session of the parliament was probably the longest in Nepal’s parliamentary history.

The session was commenced on May 3, 2016.


The government is planning to commence the budget session from May 22, Monday, said Ajay Shankar Nayak, Minister for Law and Justice.


It has been learned that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is going to step down after next house session begins.
