KATHMANDU, July 27: The District Government Attorney's Office, Kathmandu, has taken legal action against three individuals involved in the disturbing incident where minors were allowed entry into the Lord of Drinks (LOD) club in Thamel. The case has been filed under crimes against children.

The individuals facing charges are Sahdev Sedhain, the club's front office manager, Sapna Dhungana, an employee, and Rabin Shrestha, the chief executive officer. Sedhain and Dhungana are currently in police custody, while Shrestha is considered a fugitive defendant, subject to apprehension.

The investigation into the rape case, conducted by the District Police Range, Lalitpur, led to the discovery that minors were granted access to the club, prompting the arrests of the two operators.

Initially, Raju Singh Suwal, the owner of LOD, and his partner, Rudil Ballabh Shrestha, were also detained in connection with the case. However, after verifying that they were not present at the club during the incident, they were released with the expectation of full cooperation during the investigation.

In response to the allegations, both Shrestha and Suwal emphasized that they were not present at the club during the alleged incident and requested the police to interrogate the staff at the entrance gate to ascertain how the victim and her friends were able to enter the club. Subsequently, the Kathmandu police arrested them.

According to the authorities involved in the investigation, a tragic incident occurred on June 14, where a 15-year-old girl, who gained access to LOD, was reportedly subjected to rape in Sanepa.

In light of the victim's age, specifically 15 years, 11 months, and 4 days, the Lalitpur police initiated an investigation against the owner, suspecting negligence in allowing a minor to enter the club.
