Local NC leader found dead in Kaski

LEKHNATH, KASKI, Aug 14: A local leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) Ramji Paudel (Badal) was found dead here at Gagangauda of Lekh Nath Municipality-13 on Friday morning.

Paudel had participated in a municipality level meeting of the party late on Thursday night.

He had left the meeting at around 11 pm last night. According to preliminary police report, leader Badal might have been thrashed to death by a group of people on his way to his house after the meeting.

The meeting was called as part of preparations of upcoming NC convention.

Police have nabbed a person in connection with the incident.

NC cadres close to him have accused the dissident faction of the party of murdering leader Badal.

Meanwhile, NC cadres closed to Badal have enforced the shut down the Prithvi Highway in protest of incident.
