CHITWAN May 3: Shankar Kandel, a local leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) and a poultry trader, has been found dead in Bharatpur, Chitwan.
Police have suspected suicide as he was found hanging inside his office at Belchok, Bharatpur-3. According to the District Police Office Spokesperson DSP Bijaya Raj Pandit, a suicide note was also recovered.

According to him, the body has been sent for a postmortem.
Kandel was the treasurer of the NC district committee until the party’s general convention last year. He was also a mahasamiti member of the party.
Local traders say he was in financial distress and had sold his poultry. It has also come to light that the poultry farm had been blacklisted.
