KHOTANG, Oct 15: Drought victims of eight wards in Halesi Tuwachung Municipality of Khotang were distributed food recently. The local government took the step to distribute food and make the people aware about food storage by conducting a program.

Due to the drought faced by the people in different areas of Halesi Tuwachung for a long time, maize along with other annual crops couldn't be planted. The crops that were planted also died due to the persisting drought. The famine caused due to the drought made the municipality declare the region as a food crisis zone and distribute rice in the drought-affected region.
