KATHMANDU, May 8: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has decided to reduce load-shedding to 73.50 hours a week from the existing 80 effective from Sunday.

In one week, there would be 10 hours of power cuts for three days, 11.5 for another three and nine on the remaining one day, as per the new schedule.

The NEA had earlier reduced load-shedding to 80 hours a week from 98 but the schedule was effective for just two days.

“We have reduced load-shedding due to increased production as the water level in the rivers have increased,” Chief of the Load Dispatch Center Chiranjibi Sharma said.
