KATHMANDU, Feb 24: The Netra Bikram Chand led Communist Party of Nepal (Revolutionary) has been allegedly involved in the bomb blast at Ncell’s head office at Nakkhu on Friday. Here are a list of incidents that the party has been involved from 2018 to 2019 on our record.
An Ncell tower based at Bachhyauli in Ratnanagar Municipality-6 of Chitwan district was bombed on February 13, 2018. The pressure cooker bomb exploded targeting the Ncell tower, damaging the device installed in it, around midnight.
A Nepal Army bomb disposal team defused a suspicious object found on the bridge over Bagmati river in Tinkune, Kathmandu on February 20, 2018. The object was placed on a day when Chand led party had called for a general strike across the country demanding the release of its cadres.
An improvised explosive device went off when the vehicle carrying Province 1 Minister for Social Development Jeeevan Ghimire was heading towards Pathari-Sanischare from Biratnagar on March 2, 2018. Improvised explosive devices were found at three places — Sunjhoda of Urlabari Municipality-3, Hariyali Forest of Pathari-Sanischare-2, and Pathari-Saniscahre-1
Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party vandalized Blue Shine Stone Crusher Industry at Namobuddha Municipality, Kavre on April 14, 2018. The party cadres set a crusher machine, four tippers and two excavators on fire. Property worth around Rs 30 million was destroyed in the incident.
An unidentified group detonated an improvised explosive device at the office of Arun-III Hydropower Project in Sankhuwasabha district on April 30, and June 13, 2018. The explosion carried at the Tumlingtar-based administrative building of the project caused minor damage to the compound wall.
A pressure cooker bomb went off at the building of Chulachuli Rural Municipality in Ilam on Saturday, causing a minor damage to the building on April 15, 2018
An improvised explosive device detonated in Tansen Municipality-5 in Palpa district on May 13, 2018.
An improvised explosive device planted by an unidentified group near the Karra river in Hetauda along the East-West Highway was defused by the Nepal Army on May 13, 2018.
Bomb explosion in Damak injures two
An unidentified group detonated a bomb at the house of Ward Chairperson of Damak Municipality-7 in Jhapa district on May 21, 2018.
A bomb went off in Bhatbhateni Super Market in Bharatpur on May 13, 2018. Likewise, The Nepal Army’s bomb disposal squad defused bombs planted at Pokhara airport and at Madi Bridge of Byas municipality in Tanahun.
Three improvised explosive devices were found at different places of Kathmandu on August 14, 2018 during a nation-wide strike by Chand led party. The IEDs were found at Naikap Balkhu bridge of Chandragiri Municipality, Nayapati of Gokarneshwor Municipality and Jamal of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
On August 13, 2018, an IED went off at the Biratnagar Metropolitan City. The explosion damaged windowpanes of the office and the vehicle used by Mayor Bhim Parajuli.
Nepal Army bomb disposal team has defused improvised explosive devices found in Suryavinayak and Lokanthali of Bhaktapur on August 14, 2018. Pressure cooker bombs were detected near Adarsha Bus Park in Suryavinayak Municipality-6 and along the roadside in Lokanthali, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality.
