A Florida woman last week used Linkin Park lyrics to help save a man's life, literally talking a suicidal man off the ledge with portions of the band's bittersweet "One More Light," as Orlando's WKMG-TV reported.

Healthcare worker Christina Settanni was driving along State Road 408 when she noticed a man sitting on a ledge. Fearing he would jump, she decided to stop, get out of her car and walk over to him. Sitting with the man, she recited a lyric from the Linkin Park song "One More Light": "Who cares if one more light goes out? / Well, I do."

"I stopped because I've been where he is. He needed someone to show they cared," Settanni said. "I didn't know if it clicked with him, but he just cried." Watch the video down toward the bottom of this page.

Settanni's assistance may have saved the man's life. Bodycam footage from deputy Shaun Cayer, the officer who arrived on the scene shortly after, shows Settanni "sitting next to the man on the overpass bridge, speaking to him in a calm, composed manner," the news report noted.

"I'd like to think so. Hopefully, he took that as a sign," the officer said. The man was not arrested, but he was taken to a mental health care facility. Settanni said she still thinks about him every day.

Linkin Park's Chester Bennington died by suicide in 2017, the same year fellow rocker Chris Cornell took his own life.
