Leaders of UCPN Maoist, CPN-UML, Nepali Congress (NC), Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP), among others, chanted slogans against Sharma and obstructed him from attending office. They had picketed LDO office and chanted slogans against Sharma since early morning.
The local leaders have also padlocked LDO Sharma´s chamber and Finance Section of his office. Locals have labeled Sharma as a ´corrupt´ official and asked him to immediately leave the district.
The locals also obstructed police personnel who were trying to escort him home.
The local level political mechanism has decided to form a probe committee to investigate into the alleged financial irregularities. “We won´t allow him to attend office until he returns the money he gathered illegally," reads the decision paper of the mechanism.
