The discussion primarily focused on the problems faced by today’s youth regarding academic performance and career choices.
The round-table was mainly conducted as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of LCCI Nepal and as the third phase of an on-going project.
In an attempt to better understand teenage students and what their parents think of their academic progress, a project with four justified steps was created.
The first step was the survey that was conducted in five +2 colleges, Ace Institute, Asian College of Higher Studies, Oxbridge College, National Campus and South Asian State College.

The survey included 100 parents of students studying at these colleges, asking them various questions of their child’s career focus, discipline and mannerisms.
The second phase of the project included a discussion of the results amongst the LCCI experts.
For the third-step, Sunday’s round-table commenced and future steps aim to develop a tailor-made program based on the result of this project and implement it.
“I think, we are asking too much from the youth by asking them to be career-focused,” says LCCI Member, Sanam Chitrakar. “I think the young people of today don’t pay any mind to material they are taught within the confines of the classroom. They need something more, they need to be taught life-skills,” he adds.
