KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Originating as Laxmi Mithai Bhandar, a sweets shop, in 1973, Laxmi Group is celebrating its 50th year as a versatile and thriving entity in the market this year. Over the past five decades, the group has expanded its presence in automotive trading (dealing with both passenger and commercial vehicles, along with auto components), manufacturing (producing steel, paper, plastic, and confectionery items), and the sporting industry.

According to the press statement issued by the company, to commemorate this milestone and emphasize its enduring commitment to community welfare, Laxmi Group and its various ventures organized several Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. These initiatives aimed to uplift and support the communities that have been integral to the group’s success. As part of its CSR efforts, Laxmi Group conducted a blood donation program, involving the participation of over 100 employees. This altruistic endeavor reflects the group’s dedication to community health and well-being. Additionally, Laxmi Intercontinental, a part of Laxmi Group, contributed to the cause by providing stationery and supplies to the ‘Self-Help Group for Cerebral Palsy’ in Dhapakhel.

Under the leadership of Laxmi Group, Hyundai Kathmandu spearheaded a cleaning campaign near the revered Bhatbhateni Temple in Naxal, highlighting the group’s commitment to environmental responsibility. Sujal Dairy, another esteemed venture, organized a heartwarming free food campaign at ‘Hope Heritage Elder Care’ in Gairidhara, Kathmandu. Sujal Dairy Products, including kheer and puri tarkari, were distributed to elderly residents, embodying the group’s ethos of care and compassion, as mentioned in the statement.
