Lawyers continue sit-in protest at Supreme Court

KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Agitating lawyers have continued their sit-in protest in the premises of Supreme Court on Tuesday.


Even though Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana urged agitating lawyers, who have stepped up protest demanding his resignation, to come for dialogue to resolve their demands, lawyers have maintained that the bottomline of their demand is immediate resignation of Chief Justice Rana.s.

Chief Justice Rana in a statement on Monday urged the agitating lawyers to stop their protest and resolve their concerns through dialogue. 


The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has been staging a sit-in protest at the main entrance of the Supreme Court to stop CJ Rana from entering his office. He has been entering the apex court through an alternative gate.
