Law day not observed

KATHMANDU, May 9: The Law Day, which is celebrated on 26 Baishakh every year, was not observed formally today considering the difficult times that the country is facing in the aftermath of the April 25 Gorkha quake.

The Day is being observed every year in commemoration of the implementation of Nepal Apex Court Act, 2051 it was not celebrated this year due to the hour of sorrow following the devastating earthquake occurred on April 25 in the country, said Joint Spokesperson at the Supreme Court, Baburam Dahal.


Issuing a message on the occasion of the Law Day, Chief Justice Ram Kumar Prasad Saha expressed heartfelt condolence to those, who lost their lives in the earthquake and wished for speedy recovery to the injured. RSS
